Park Eun-Kyung

I choose Park Eun-Kyung as my reference artist because she does the contemporary jewellery that is inspired by nail art. Park Eun-Kyung is one of the best south Korea's artist that make fingernail rings.

When I was doing my research I noticed that there are few artists that make this fingernail jewellery. Park Eun-Kyung is one of my favourite artist, because she makes contemporary jewellery that is inspired by the beauty of nail art. When I was doing my research about nails I learned that Muslim female's don't apply nail polish, because when they have to pray they have to put their maker first(god). Muslim female is only allowed to decorate their hands with henna and accessories.

Park use wire to make her fingernail jewellery, which makes the jewellery look simple. I like to make fingernail jewellery but I want to make it look different from park Eun-Kyung jewellery. I want to make jewellery that going to accommodate every female. I will make my jewellery look different by exploring in the beauty of nail shapes, colour's, texture and looking at jewellery as a whole. I want to make them look interesting by adding colour, crystals, and resin. I will use different techniques like enamelling, hatching, casting, filigree, weaving and beading.
