When I was doing my research I noticed that there are few artists that make this fingernail jewellery. Park Eun-Kyung is one of my favourite artist, because she makes contemporary jewellery that is inspired by the beauty of nail art. When I was doing my research about nails I learned that Muslim female's don't apply nail polish, because when they have to pray they have to put their maker first(god). Muslim female is only allowed to decorate their hands with henna and accessories.

Park use wire to make her fingernail jewellery, which makes the jewellery look simple. I like to make fingernail jewellery but I want to make it look different from park Eun-Kyung jewellery. I want to make jewellery that going to accommodate every female. I will make my jewellery look different by exploring in the beauty of nail shapes, colour's, texture and looking at jewellery as a whole. I want to make them look interesting by adding colour, crystals, and resin. I will use different techniques like enamelling, hatching, casting, filigree, weaving and beading.

Enameling and Acrylic gel

Figure 1-Sishi,T(2020). Acrylic gel prototype

Figure 2- Sishi,T(2020). Enameling prototype
I was playing with colours and I decided to use acrylic gel and enameling powered, my aim was to experiment and to see the different between acrylic gel and enameling powered. As I was working I found it easy to work with enamel, because after putting the enameling powered put your work on the kiln and after taking your work out of the kiln, it come out smooth and glazed with enamel powered. Where as when you use acrylic gel you have to put base coat and your work need to stay 30 seconds on LED/UV lamp. After putting base coat you apply first layer of acrylic gel and put it again in the LED/UV lamp and add second layer of gel and put top coat at the end.

Daniel Ramos-ceramic artist

Daniel Ramos’ work inspired me because I'm trying to further explore beauty. Additionally, I would like to use different techniques to create my work. I also admire the unique way in which he showcased all his work.

Figure 1. Sculptures of body party

Daniel Ramos Obregón is one of my favourite artists that is currently working with ceramics. He makes wearable porcelain pieces in the shape of body parts by using ceramic and metal (Figure 1). Daniel incorporates dance into his work, as you can see the way he showcased his work with dancing action in figure 2.

Mixed Materials paragraph

"During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, French was leading makers of imitation pearls which were fashionable"

The jewellery from the 18th and 19th centuries was more valued because of their beauty, designers were using precious and semiprecious stone. In the picture below you can see they used pearls only to create a Triangular snood and it was easy to find pearls in old centuries.

In 20th centuries people are not focusing on buying expensive jewellery they buying what they can afford at the time because pearls are expensive as they are hard to find.

Favorite piece from 2019

sterling silver and cubic zircon - the process

Sterling silver, gel and crystals - completed

These are pictures of my previous work from the 2019 2thuka project. I decided to design a set of rings with nails attached because when I was a child I used to put nail polish on my barbe dolls. Designing nails is my passion and its something that I still do today but with gel, acrylic and no longer nail polish.
